Black Thumb? Try Air Plants

Picture
If caring for indoor plants is not your thing, try an Air Plant or Tillandsia. These exotic plants have no real root system. Instead they live on intense amounts of water between long intervals. They do not require potting soil. This Tillandsia is placed in the cover of a desk lamp which serves as a small vase. Watering frequency is every 2 weeks. Submerge the plant in a container filled with water for 24 hours. Make sure the container is large enough to hold the entire plant under water.

Tillandsia make a visual impact and provide natural beauty. They come in many varieties, shapes, and sizes. The largest Tallandsia is t. xerographica.

Using the natural elements of light, plants and sounds one can change the mood of any room. The use of natural light is always refreshing and uplifting helping with our need of the sun and it's benefits. Sounds of a rain forest or babbling brook are relaxing and soothing especially at bedtime. Plants  are aesthetically pleasing and are a healthy addition to our environments. These lovely Air plants can be found in the indoor plant section at many nurseries.
