The Stingiest Man In Town
by Original Cast
Columbia P12367
1974 Reissue of the television Christmas special from the 1950's based on "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. Pleasant listening to basically a retelling of the Dickens classic. With added songs in a more modern pop sensibility.

Sleigh Ride / Jingle Bells
by The Caroleer Singers and Orchestra.
Diplomat Records SX1716.
These were studio performers and their real names were probably never published. But their music is wonderful and very polished. A bright, cheerful,  mid-century sound. Nicely produced with good fidelity and sound. This album is hard to find in this condition.  Year is unknown. Click on the photo for link to Etsy site to purchase.

PictureTwas The Night Before Christmas...Back Home

A very hard to find album from 1962.  Many people may not know the name, or are vaguely familiar with Walter. He was a popular movie star whose film career spanned five decades, and maybe a hundred movies, mostly as a character actor. In the late fifties he starred as Grandpa Amos in the television series The Real McCoy's.  His voice is very unique so that even if the name is not familiar many more would recognize the voice. This Christmas album is a collection of stories. It is not hard to understand that speaking would be his strong suit. These are folksy tales. They are melodramatic, but he makes them seem real. In a way, this melodrama is probably not so far from the lives of many, and are totally relatable. Do not be surprised to find a lump in the throat or a tear in the eye during this album. Highly recommended.  Click on the image for the Etsy listing to purchase.   SOLD

Frosty The Snowman
by Peppermint Kandy Kids
Peter Pan Records 8108
This Christmas album is credited to the Peppermint Kandy Kids. No other names are given, and there are some adults singing in places. It is nicely done - infectious songs with bright and crisp musical accompaniment. Great cover art as well. This is a reissue from the original 60's version.
